About The Role

As a Substance Misuse Nurse you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planning. You will deliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both a group and 1-1 setting with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing model.

You will also encourage patient involvement in regime and therapeutic activities and create a physical and psychological environment conducive to high quality care. You will assess individual’s health needs using an evidenced based framework and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness appropriate to the service user’s needs in accordance with evidence based practice, national and PPG protocols

HMP Long Lartin is a dispersal prison in the long term and high security estate. It holds up to 621 Category A and Category B male offenders convicted of some of the most dangerous and serious offences in the country. It has the largest segregation unit in Europe. There is an 8 bed inpatient unit which includes a constant watch and end of life cell. The prison is operated by Her Majesty’s Prison Service.

Examples include ANP, BBV, sexual health, plastering, ILS (intermediate life support), health promotion, phlebotomy, vaccinations, suturing, wound care, RCGP, and long term condition courses.

You will receive an annual salary of up to £33,000 - depending on experience. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays plus CPD and re-validation support.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. We also welcome part-time and bank applications.
