About The Role

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?
Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated pharmaceutical service based on National (Divisional) policies supported with local standard operating protocols, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security. You'll be required to support the delivery of Pharmacy Services, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to patients in line with National Guidelines.

About You

You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll be able to demonstrate assessment skills, including the undertaking of risk assessments and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you may be required to take on the role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

You’ll receive an hourly pay rate of £19.63. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: free DBS check, free uniform, an extensive training and induction structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme (for anyone you refer into a permanent role).

It doesn’t stop there… we also offer a company pension scheme which we as Practice Plus Group also pay into, NHS blue light card, discounted Costco memberships, access to Boundless memberships for attractions and parks, shopping discounts, free eye tests for computer screen users, and an 24/7 employee assistance helpline.
